We started the meeting, by talking about Brent Royster's presentation to his class "Introduction to Creative Writing". This class will be taking place in the summer (May 15th-July 7th). If you are interested, register for the online class. 

James is no longer able to be president.  After a vote in this meeting, Tai became the new president. Along with that, we will be looking for a new treasurer.

We discussed the T-shirt design for the Writer's Guild (being a shield). We voted on a shield with swords, the letters W/G, a feathered pen and scroll, and the Latin words (Inspirare, Creâtus, Publicare). Meaning Inspire, Create, Publish

We discussed the Haunted House. We talked about the preparations (bringing these things if possible: spiders, rats, snakes, and creepy dolls). Another idea given for the Haunted House, was pulling and isolating/terrifying a person and dressing as creepy dolls with the theme of a Haunted Doll House for our room. 

We will talk about a 3-minute Horror Video contest at the next meeting. The next meeting is on April 19 at 4:30 pm. See you then!

Meeting today and what we did at the last one

 Good morning Fellow Creative Individuals!

We have a meeting today at 4:30 in the library, 2nd floor, Room 211. I'll be sending out a WebEx invitation for those who can't make it in person.

We will be nominating a couple of new officers, need to talk about tee shirts, the Haunted House in October, and the Horror Video Contest, and will check in on what people have been doing creatively. Please come with your ideas for a quote for the tee shirt, designs, and who you would like to nominate for office. You must be a current CTC student to hold an office. 

We want to thank James for being an amazing President for the last 2 years. James inspired many people to join the group and we appreciate his hard work. We hope he remains a part of the group and we wish him well in his next step beyond CTC. Keep being you, James! You're awesome!

At the last meeting, we enhanced our creativity by taking words and creating stories with them. 

And since the last meeting, we have a few Byways winners in our group. Congratulations Edward, Amare, Dez, Ashley, and Emeli! The entire Writers Guild is invited to the reception on May 4th. It will be at the library. I'll attach the flyer.

 Hi guys,

Our next Writers Guild meeting is tomorrow. We'll play some creative games and share what we're working on.

Meeting minutes for 3/8/2023

 Meeting Minutes March 8, 2023

We had 8 people at the meeting (Emma who is a new member), Thomas, Dez, Asriel, Emeli, Edward, Amare and Cindy. 

We discussed Byways for a few minutes

We then played some creative games:

First, we wrote a poem and shared it

Then we came up with random words and created a story together

Then we came up with a theme and drew a picture

We briefly talked about the slogan for our tee shirt

We ate candy and chips too. 

Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 22 at 4:30pm

You guys have a great spring break and keep creating!

In this Writer's Guild we discussed mainly about Byways, doing our writings to participate and sharing our works so far with others for constructive reviews.

Along with that, we had tips on how to make a Byways participation that would shine from the others(If you want to hear more about it, you can talk it with Cindy).
