There were 14 members in attendance: Betty, Ryan, Mark, Sania, Mikhail, Micah, Jessica Jonathan, Felipe, Jacob, Randy, the other Jessica (Jess), Dale, and Cindy

• We first discussed some of the ways we can create a glowing effect on our walls and tombstones for the Haunted House
•  The Jacob gave a speech on “Show, don’t Tell.” It was great and much appreciated.
•  Then we worked on our own projects.

 

Our next meeting is July 9 at 4pm in the library room 211.

•  If you need to meet online, let Cindy know by the day before the meeting.
• Send Cindy ideas for the next meeting agenda.

Writers Guild Meeting Minutes 06/11/2025

 There were 11 members in attendance: Caleb, Trynity, Jacob, Mark, Ryan, Jessica, Betty Jess, Felipe (welcome back!), Jonathan, and Sania.

·         We all worked on Showing and not Telling which is a concept Jacob introduced. We practiced doing this skill which is vital in writing stories.

  

·         Please bring whatever you are working on to the next meeting as it will be solely a work meeting. We keep saying we don’t have enough time to work on our stuff, so we are only focusing on that.

 Open House

·         *Important* We need volunteers to work Open House on Saturday, July 19 starting at 9am till about 11:30am. If you can work anytime during that slot please let Cindy know.

·         You will be telling people about the Writers Guild

·         Also, that day, Writers Guild members are going to be interviewed on the radio. If you want to speak on the radio, please let me know asap.  

Our next meeting is Weds June 25 at 4pm.

Writers Guild Meeting Minutes June 3, 2025

 

There were 13 members in attendance: Mark, Ryan, Betty, Dale, Chloe, Jonathan, Randy, Madison, Laisha, Jadan, Micah, Sania and Cindy

We found out today that separately we’re sort of ok at writing epitaphs for our weeping angel graveyard, but together, we sounded like we were run over by a bus. We had a lot of fun trying to write them, though.

Separately, we made some good efforts:

• Here lies Mark, From creative mind to valiant hero 1840-1864
• Here lies Cindy, 1795-1830 She was looking forward to the vaccine
• Here lies Bruce, loved dressing up as a bat and died by a bat

Together, we had some difficulty:

• Here lies what was gonorrhea upside and he butt flew away younger over

• Here lies Dave Duo uh he chicken leg smoked tail syphilis I read
• What has fungus toe nail done diarrhea radiation emo flaming chickens squawking outside
• Okay what in the world is blue men dancing crazily salsa in the nice

These sound like really bad foreign language translations 😊

Writers Guild Meeting Minutes 5/14/25

There were 11 members in attendance: Jacob, Betty, Ryan, Mark, Violet, Jess, Sania, Jonathan, Micah, Maddilyn, and Cindy

New Member - We did a Meet and Greet with new member Betty. Welcome!

Radio Invitation –

• ·         We were invited to talk on KNCT-FM radio during and before the Open House event on Saturday, July 19 at 9:30am.
• ·                         So far, Jacob and Jonathan signed up.
• ·         We would like to do the pre-record at 1:30 on Tuesday, June 3.
• ·                         Jacob and Jonathan, let me know if I need to change that time.
• ·         Do any of you also want to talk on the radio either before or that day?
• ·                         Let me know asap.
• ·         You would just tell them about Writers Guild.

We shared what we have been working on.

We voted on doing a couple of work days during the summer for the Haunted House.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday, May 28 at 4pm. Make sure to email Cindy to let her know if you need an online link for the meeting.

 Writers Guild Meeting Minutes 5/3/2025

There were 18 members in attendance: Devon, Tajane, Caleb, Jonathan, Chloe, Kiera, Sheli, Jessica, Jess, Mark, Sania, Violet, Laisha, Jeremiah, Micah, Amare, Madison, and Cindy

We did these things:

1) We briefly discussed what we will buy for the Haunted House

2) We came up with stories that had to use at least 3 genres

• We broke into groups
• Came up with our stories and pictures
• Then put it all together
• We had a ghost train, dinosaurs, dragons, aliens, space detectives, exploding heads, murderers, horrible eye-ball incidents, the Wild West, with exciting scenes and action.

3) We are still meeting during the summer, so keep coming! We’ll start working on the Haunted House as soon as we have supplies

 Writers Guild Meeting Minutes 4/2/2025

There were 17 members in attendance: Tajane, Cy, Caleb, Kiera, Sheli, Jessica V, Antonio, Jessica T, Chole, Violet, Micah, Jonathan, Sania, Donald,  Amare, Madison and Cindy

• We held a vote for Vice President and Madison won. Congratulations! (Madison, please copy and paste these minutes into Discord). Thanks!
• Jonathan said he would like to stay in office, so he’s still the President.

Then we worked on the commercial and filmed a bunch of stuff. We will finish at the next meeting.

Then Jessica, the Secretary, wrote “Cindy Storytime.” 😊

1. Our artists drew, our writers wrote, our musicians composed, and our videographers shot film.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday, April 16 at 4pm. Make sure to let Cindy know you need a Teams link if you want to attend virtually.
