ReplyDeleteThe sudden shower drenched the mother and child, but their exchanged smiles told of their shared joy. Even in chilly, sodden clothes, the experience warmed them pleasantly.

ReplyDeleteThe rain flooded the area stranding Mother and daughter on the riverbanks that now came up to their knees. Their expressions betrayed their situation, as the Mother shielded her and her daughter with a large banana leaf, words could not describe their happiness. The drought was over. The river refilled.
In the distance was mother and child siting in the rain. Water had risen past their knees as they shield their faces with a bright green banana leaf. Dark clothes cling to their slick skin that doesn't shine as much as their smiles. The daughter holds two, light colored, basket weaved bird houses. They might have come to hang them up, but they got lost in the moment of bliss.
