There were two choices for our activity today,

-Showing off work that was done outside of club activities

-Creating a piece of media that has to do with cliches.

We held a vote for two things!

-We will write back to the children who write Santa letters!! As whoever you want (Christmas themed), not just Santa

*We will be holding a food drive* 

Bring non-perishable food to Room 121 KNCT for the food drive

This is Matt’s office, he said to tell the people there that you have food for the food drive, and they will tell you where to put it.

Our next meeting is NEXT WEDNESDAY the 19th

*not the Wednesday after (there will be a meeting then too on Nov 26th)*

MEETING MINUTES!! For 10/29/25 

There were 18 people in attendance: 

Amare, Adam, Nathan, Devon, Jemma, Betty, Sheli, Kiera, Mark, Jessica T, Michael, Jadan, Jessica R, Trevion, Caleb, Jonathan 

We did two activities at the same time, members chose which activity they wanted and participated 

• Write or draw a character through their wastebasket (what they throw away), or,
• Write or draw a character using one of these adjectives: stuck up, snobbish, arrogant, haughty, imperious. 

Members had 35 minutes to complete their garbage description/drawing OR their stuck up character description/drawing 

Afterward, there was a 20-minute discussion to compare the different depictions created from the same word.  

* WE MOVED NEXT DOOR!!! We switched rooms to the one directly beside us, this will be in the email as well, but don't forget!!! *

That was all we did today!!!

There were 14 people in attendance:

We finished prep for the haunted house.  

NO HAZING DISCUSSION!!! 

Discussed who would be able to come early, who would be an angel, and who would be a guide. 

FRIDAY people who will be helping at the haunted house.

SATURDAY people who will be helping at the haunted house.

Guides are Amare and Caleb 

That was basically all today! Mostly talking and having fun before we need to do everything friday and saturday for the haunted house! 

Haunted house setup on friday begins at 9am at the planetarium!!

Meeting minutes for 10/8/25 

There were 16 people in attendance:

We worked on the haunted house today, the three groups were: 

-Artists working on the wallpaper for the haunted room 

-Devon and Betty fitting costumes for the angels 

-Another group working on making the tombstones sit upright 

Haunted House Important Dates!! 

The haunted house will be on the 17th and 18th 6pm-10pm 

VOLUNTEERS WHO SAID THEY WOULD WORK EARLY 

-Akeelah, Michael R, Betty, Aaron, Cindy, Sania, Devon, Jessica T  

Haunted house setup will be at 9am oct 17th at the planetarium 

The next meeting will be oct 15th 4-5:30pm We will be working on finishing prep for the haunted house

There were 21 Members in attendance:

We discussed what jobs went to whom for the haunted house and voted on whether we would help Net Impact for the lighting ceremony. 

•    We will not participate in the lighting ceremony 

We discussed whether we would be doing face paint or masks for the haunted house

•    Some will do face paint, some will do masks. 

We had volunteers for who would be angels, who would be helping with the haunted house, and on what days. 

We wrote and illustrated antagonists and protagonists 

Haunted House Important Dates! Mark your calendars!

The Haunted House will be on the 17th & 18th, 6pm-10pm! 

We will need volunteers to help set up for the haunted house. 

Haunted House setup will be at 9 am, Oct 17th at the planetarium. 

The Next Meeting will be Wednesday, OCT 8th, in the KNCT room!

During this meeting, we will be working on finalizing props and supplies for the haunted house!

Remember next meeting is NEXT Wednesday! We will still have our meeting on Oct 15th as well.

Hello Everyone, 

Introductions NEW PEOPLE!!!!!!! Welcome!

The haunted house is coming up! Dates to be announced soon. Our theme is weeping angels this year. We may need to have another working meeting to work on props before the haunted house in October. :3

We created a super fun story: Bartholomew runs from the Skinwalkers that killed all his friends…PLOT TWIST, actually, he killed them with a big stick. :p

The agenda committee was formed. Everyone is welcome to submit activities to the Agenda Committee Hall in Discord. <3

We went over Discord rules with Madison (user: maddie1302). If you want to post any links, make sure to first send your link to Chelsea or Matt, one of our sponsors, for approval.

Lots of changes after voting:

Our new name is (the) Creative Underground. I’m not sure if the “the” goes with it or not.

Our new location is the KNCT TV studio aka our new underground cave. We will meet at KNCT next meeting. There’s a backdoor straight from the parking lot. Go to the right when you come through this door.

This upcoming year officers: Congratulations to all of you!

• Treasurer and Protector from Net Impact and the Chess Club– Jacob
• Secretary – Jessica, with Ryan in the role until Jessica gets to the meeting

Meeting Minutes 8/6/2025

Goc-E Talkie 8/6/2025

There were 14 people in attendance: Christian, Cameron, Isabella, Ryan, Aiden, Betty, Mark, Matt, Caleb, Khallid, Amare, Jessica, Audrina and Cindy.

• Christian, Cameron, Isabella, Aiden, and Audrina are new members. Welcome!
• Khallid joined at the last meeting. Welcome also!  
• Matt Negri is our new co-sponsor. Welcome too! He’s the Station Manager at KNCT-FM here on campus and he’s way cool! (Now you will have 2 of us making you crazy! 😊)

The name of the club was formally changed in a vote. We are now the Guild of Creative Expression.

• We did this because we are creators of all types.
• Our meeting minutes were changed to be called the Goc-E Talkie and our nickname can be the Goc-E’s, if we want to call ourselves that while shouting it across the courtyard. Hey Goc-E!
• We still have Writers Guild on the tee-shirts though until they are all gone.
• Members get a tee shirt after attending 5 meetings and volunteering for one event.

**** We talked about our creative goals and dreams and encouraged each other on pursuing them.

Next meeting:

• Wednesday, August 20 at 4pm in room 211 and online
• We will go over the roles of officers and other positions, as well as our constitution and by-laws to see if we need changes.
• We will be looking for volunteers to work at the Welcome Bash on Aug 28.

Haunted House info and Open House

 Hi Writers Guild,

We still need a couple of people to stand at a table this Saturday in the Anderson building anytime between 9 and 1pm to tell people about the Writers Guild. Let me know if you can work any of that time. 

• We're on the second floor. 
• Podcasters Sania, Jess, Jessica, and Randy, come into the large room and find me. 
• We talk on the radio at 9:30am. 

Also, there is a lot of work we have to do at the next meeting with drawing, painting and building for the Haunted House. If we start the meeting at 2pm that day, can you guys come in earlier to work on the props, decor, and costumes? Otherwise, we may have to dedicate 2 meetings for completing the work. The meeting is next week and not tomorrow. 

• I'll bring the stuff up at 2pm and if you can come early, please just show up. 
• Since we will be working on stuff here, our online guys, will you draw some scenery stuff to give us ideas? 
• Any online writers, be writing some dates that we can paint on the tombstones. We decided to just put the angels and the dates on with no epitaphs. 

We're mainly building 

• tombstones to stand up, covering them, pasting the angels onto the tombstones and painting dates (I made copies of the angels that we can cut out, paint, then paste on the tombstones).  
• Then we're tracing tombstones on large pieces of paper, painting them and adding some scenery in the background.
• We're also pinning costumes together
• I have the black light to try on the clothes and scenery

Hopefully, I'll see a few of you this Saturday and I'll see the rest of you next Wednesday for a working meeting!

1. We broke into clans to create a horror, psychological thriller with a comedy twist
2. Everyone, make sure to send me your drawings, music, and videos you took during the meeting or post it in Discord. I will get to downloading everything either today or next week.

Open House – Saturday, July 19 from 8:30 am-1pm. 2nd floor Anderson Building

• We are doing 2 things at Open House: recruiting at the Writers Guild table and talking on the radio.
  •                 Live podcast- We are scheduled to talk on the radio either at 9 or 9:20. 
    • Therefore,  please come to the Anderson no later than 8:30 am so we can make sure everyone is there and ready to go for the airing.

• So far, we have Amare as a recruiter.

• I am contacting our members who have been published to see if they want to be featured by our CTC marketing department. They would love to hear your story and how Writers Guild was part of your journey, whether it be writing, art, digital art, music and more.

• We first discussed some of the ways we can create a glowing effect on our walls and tombstones for the Haunted House
•  The Jacob gave a speech on “Show, don’t Tell.” It was great and much appreciated.
•  Then we worked on our own projects.

 There were 11 members in attendance: Caleb, Trynity, Jacob, Mark, Ryan, Jessica, Betty Jess, Felipe (welcome back!), Jonathan, and Sania.

·         We all worked on Showing and not Telling which is a concept Jacob introduced. We practiced doing this skill which is vital in writing stories.

  

·         Please bring whatever you are working on to the next meeting as it will be solely a work meeting. We keep saying we don’t have enough time to work on our stuff, so we are only focusing on that.

 Open House

·         *Important* We need volunteers to work Open House on Saturday, July 19 starting at 9am till about 11:30am. If you can work anytime during that slot please let Cindy know.

·         You will be telling people about the Writers Guild

·         Also, that day, Writers Guild members are going to be interviewed on the radio. If you want to speak on the radio, please let me know asap.

We found out today that separately we’re sort of ok at writing epitaphs for our weeping angel graveyard, but together, we sounded like we were run over by a bus. We had a lot of fun trying to write them, though.

• We had a ghost train, dinosaurs, dragons, aliens, space detectives, exploding heads, murderers, horrible eye-ball incidents, the Wild West, with exciting scenes and action.

3) We are still meeting during the summer, so keep coming! We’ll start working on the Haunted House as soon as we have supplies

Then we worked on the commercial and filmed a bunch of stuff. We will finish at the next meeting.
